Description
The FERRI-Check ® test is a medical device that is used to independently check the level of ferritin , a special protein that stores iron in the body's cells. This makes it possible to detect anemia caused by iron deficiency . To perform a rapid immunodiagnostic test , blood is taken from a finger . The test is accurate, showing an overall agreement of 98% with the reference method. The test result is obtained 10 minutes after applying the blood sample to the test plate.
Iron deficiency anemia (also known as anemia) is common in children and women of all ages (most often in menstruating women). Iron deficiency often occurs during pregnancy, growth and blood loss (including menstruation). The main symptoms include: paleness, feeling tired, headache, fast heartbeat and shortness of breath during exercise. Unfortunately, these symptoms appear slowly, gradually and may go unnoticed.
How does the FERRI-Check ® home test work?
Iron is one of the most important elements in the body responsible for the production of hemoglobin. Iron in cells is stored by a special protein - ferritin. Its amount in the blood is directly related to the amount of iron in the body. The FERRI-Check Test ® allows you to detect reduced levels of ferritin in blood taken from a finger prick. A positive test result means that the ferritin concentration in the blood is less than 20 ng/ml and iron deficiency is possible, which can consequently lead to anemia.
The FERRI-Check ® test is suitable for home use and has been used by professionals for over 10 years.
