Triferment Forte, 30 tablets, Biofarm

Indications:
Triferment Forte contains a mixture of enzymes called 'pancreatin'. Pancreatin helps you digest food.
Triferment Forte is used in children and adults with 'exocrine pancreatic insufficiency'. This occurs when the pancreas does not secrete enough enzymes to digest food.

Composition:
The active substance is pancreatin.
Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 325 mg pancreatin, with a minimal activity: lipolytic 10000 U, amylolytic 8125 U, proteolytic 536 U.
The other components are: lactose monohydrate, polyvidone K30, crospovidone, sodium starch glycolate, talc, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose 101, hypromellose 15cP, titanium dioxide, macrogol 4000, citric acid monohydrate, methacrylic acid copolymer type C, triethylcitrate, dioxide colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, macrogol 3350, Ponceau 4R, twilight yellow FCF.

Mode of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The dose is established according to individual needs and the severity of dyspeptic disorders from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
The gastro-resistant tablets are swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid during or immediately after a meal.
Adults: the recommended dose is 1-2 gastro-resistant Triferment Forte tablets with each meal.
The maximum dose of lipase units is 15000-20000/kgc/day.
Children: Triferment Forte is administered, as directed by the doctor, to children over 6 years of age due to its pharmaceutical form.
Elderly: the recommended dose of Triferment Forte is the same as for adults.

Contraindications
Do not use Triferment Forte: if you are allergic to pancreatin or any of the other components of this medicine, if you suffer from acute pancreatitis or exacerbations of chronic pancreatitis.

Precautions:
- if digestive symptoms persist or worsen under treatment, it is necessary to see a doctor.
- if you use large doses of pancreatic enzymes, lesions may occur in the mouth and anus, as well as intestinal strictures. A rare condition called "fibrosing colonopathy", a condition in which the intestine is narrowed, has been reported in patients with cystic fibrosis who use high doses of products containing pancreatin. If you have cystic fibrosis and take more than 10,000 lipase units/kg body/day and have unusual abdominal pain or changes in abdominal symptoms, tell your doctor.
- if you have gout and urinary stones, caution is recommended.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
Triferment Forte can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as indicated by the doctor, after evaluating the maternal benefit/fetal risk ratio.

Driving vehicles and using machines:
Triferment Forte has no influence on the ability to drive vehicles or use machines.
