Rapid anemia test (Fe deficiency), 1 piece, Advent Life [3800502177036]
Properties:
IRON DEFICIENCY:
Iron deficiency occurs when the blood does not contain enough red cells, resulting in low levels of hemoglobin, which is a major protein involved in transporting oxygen throughout the body. An important component of hemoglobin is iron. Iron depletion, which can occur during pregnancy and during periods of growth, in case of insufficient iron intake, inadequate absorption or blood loss (menstruation, abnormal bleeding, ulcers... etc.) have colossal effects on health.
WHAT IS IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA?
Anemia due to iron depletion is widespread in children and women of all ages, but especially in women who are still menstruating (at least 20% suffer from iron deficiency).
Basic signs of anemia can often go unnoticed. Therefore, it is important to determine if the available iron is sufficient for the body's needs.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
Some of the most common symptoms are:
Pallor
Feeling of fatigue
Headache
Faster heartbeats
Breathing difficulties during physical exercises
Attention: This test is not suitable for the patient suspected or suffering from hemochromatosis.
How to use:
The test procedure always starts with good preparation. Place the contents of the box on a clean, dry and flat surface (eg table). Then comes the testing:
1. Wash your hands well. Use soap and warm water. Dry your hand with a clean towel.
2. Prepare the test device and pipette. Take them out of the protective bag and keep them handy (you will need them later). Throw away the desiccant bag.
3. Prepare the lancet. Hold the lancet without touching the release button. Unlock the lancet cap by twisting it ¼ turn until you feel it separate from the lancet and then continue twisting it (2-3 turns). Don't pull, just twist and throw the cap away when you're done.
4. Clean the end of the middle or ring finger with cotton moistened with alcohol. Rub the chosen finger towards the tip for 10 to 15 seconds (improves blood flow)
5. Firmly press the side of the previously cleaned finger and press the release button.
6. The tip will automatically retract into the body of the device.
7. Rub the tip of your finger to get enough whole blood sample.
8. Put the plastic pipette in contact with the blood sample, without pressing the bulb of the pipette. The blood migrates into the pipette through capillarity towards the line indicated on the pipette. You can rub your finger again to get more blood if the line is not reached. As much as possible, avoid air bubbles.
9. Insert the blood collected with the pipette into the sample well of the device, pressing the bulb of the pipette.
10. Wait 30-40 seconds for the blood to be completely absorbed in the sample well. Unscrew the blue cap of the diluent dropper bottle (leave the white cap tightly screwed on) and add the diluent as follows: hold the diluent dropper bottle vertically and slowly add exactly 4 drops into the device's sample well with an interval of 2-3 seconds between each drop.
11. Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret the result after more than 15 minutes.'
