PYLORI- Screen® is a rapid blood test for the detection of anti-Helicobacter pylori antibodies in the blood obtained from a finger prick . The medical self-examination device allows prior confirmation of the presence of antibodies to the bacteria that are the most common cause of gastric ulcers.
PYLORI-Screen® is a specific, rapid immunodiagnostic test that allows obtaining results at the level of a laboratory test in real time (10 minutes) at home. The presence in the body of pathogenic strains of Helicobacter pylori ( HP) that colonize the surface of the stomach or the intestinal epithelium can cause chronic gastritis, which can lead to ulcers and even cancer.
When should you perform the PYLORI-Screen ® test?
A test for H. pylori antibodies in the initial diagnosis of gastric ulcer should be performed when the patient has repeated abdominal pain (stomach pain, nausea, indigestion, reflux). Currently, 90% of patients suffering from gastric ulcer are diagnosed with HP infection. Proper diagnosis allows you to detect the bacteria and then initiate effective antibiotic therapy to completely eliminate the pathogen
