Research has shown that legumes such as beans, lentils, peas, chickpeas, beans, and soybeans have potential in preventing chronic health problems (such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity), but also in supporting health in general.

Bean pâté is a very healthy and tasty choice at the same time, with health benefits. The bean (with its Latin name, Vicia faba) is a legume with a long tradition of cultivation in the Vehce World (Europe, Africa and Asia), being one of the oldest plants grown by man: along with lentils, peas and chickpeas, it was part from the Eastern-Mediterranean diet since 6,000 BC. The grain was often eaten by the Greeks and Romanians, today it is boiled, fried, dried, incorporated into soups or used as a filling, in countries all over the world.

The bean is an almost forgotten legume in Romania, whose nutritional properties bring it back to the podium of plant-based foods rich in proteins. The grain has a high nutritional value due to the content of proteins (20-40%), carbohydrates (51%-68%), dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamins (Bs, K) and minerals (manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, iron, potassium, zinc, selenium, calcium). The mineral content makes the grain a wise choice for fasting periods, for vegetarians, vegans and for all those who want a balanced and varied diet. This bean spread (with tomatoes and onions) contains no artificial additives, colors or preservatives and is rich in fiber and quality protein. All ingredients are carefully selected so that you can enjoy long-lasting flavor and satiety. Tomatoes and onions were added for extra flavor and health.

Studies have shown that, included in the diet, the grain supports heart health (thanks to the potassium and magnesium content), prevents hypertension and can reduce cholesterol (thanks to the fibers, which - along with proteins - increase the feeling of satiety and can help you lose weight). Regular consumption of beans can help the immune system, thanks to compounds that increase antioxidant activity. The grain is rich in folic acid, a nutrient that promotes the healthy development of the fetus and can reduce the risk of birth defects. Manganese, copper, calcium and zinc contribute to bone health, while iron keeps anemia at bay. The bean can reduce the symptoms of Parkinson's disease (being rich in levodopa/L-dopa, an amino acid converted in the body into dopamine - a substance whose level decreases in the case of Parkinson's patients).

The pepper and tarragon bean paste can be eaten with vegetables, in sandwiches or on slices of toast. It represents a quick solution for days when hunger is stronger than patience, together with greens or fresh vegetables. This pâté is ideal for a varied daily diet and is a vegan/fasting product: it has the texture of a traditional pâté, it is as spreadable as this, it has a pleasant and aromatic taste, it is a filling, healthy product and ready to be consumed at any time . This spread has a bean flavor, combined with the familiar taste of onion and tomato, to immediately send you thinking of grandma's Lenten meal.

The bean pâté (with peppers and tarragon) was made in collaboration with the "Dunărea de Jos" University in Galati, being subject to the rigors and scientific quality standards. It received the gold medal for this product category in 2017 at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.
