Read the leaflet carefully and completely before you start using this medicine, because it contains important information for you. Always use this medicine as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Indications:
- PADUDEN DUO contains two active ingredients (which ensure the action of the medicine). These are ibuprofen and paracetamol.
- Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs work by reducing pain, reducing inflammation and lowering fever.
- Paracetamol is a pain reliever that works in a different way to ibuprofen to reduce pain and fever.
- PADUDEN DUO is used for the short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with migraine, headache, back pain, period pain, toothache, muscle pain, cold and flu, sore throat and fever .
Composition:
- The active substances are ibuprofen and paracetamol.
- The other ingredients are: Tablet core: maize starch, povidone K-30 (E 1201), croscarmellose sodium (E
- 468), microcrystalline cellulose (E 460), colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide (E551), glycerol dibehenate (E471).
- Tablet film: Opadry white (partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), glycerol monocaprylocaprate, sodium lauryl sulfate).
Administration method:
The patient should consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen or if it is necessary to use this medicine for more than 3 days.
Adults : Take one tablet up to three times a day, with water. An interval of at least six hours will be allowed between doses.
If the administration of the dose of one tablet does not control the symptoms, a maximum of two tablets can be administered, up to three times a day. An interval of at least six hours will be allowed between doses.
No more than six tablets (paracetamol 3000 mg, ibuprofen 1200 mg) will be taken in a 24-hour period.
Children and teenagers
Contraindications:
Do not take PADUDEN DUO if:
- already take any other medicine containing paracetamol.
- take any other medicine that relieves pain, including ibuprofen, high-dose acetylsalicylic acid (more than 75 mg per day) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) inhibitors.
- you are allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- you have or have ever had an ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or duodenum (small intestine).
- you have a blood clotting disorder (formation of blood clots).
- suffer from heart, liver or kidney failure.
- you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
- you are under 18 years of age.
Precautions:
Before taking PADUDEN DUO, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if:
- you have an infection
- you are an elderly person
- you have or have had asthma
- suffer from kidney, heart, liver or intestinal disorders
- you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) – a condition of the immune system that affects connective tissue, causing joint pain, skin changes and disorders of other organs, or other mixed connective tissue disease
- have gastrointestinal disorders or chronic inflammatory bowel disease (eg, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease)
- you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy or breastfeeding
- intend to become pregnant.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Do not use if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Take special care if you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy. PADUDEN DUO can make it more difficult to get pregnant. Ibuprofen belongs to a group of drugs that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug. You should tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or if you are having difficulty becoming pregnant.
Driving and using machines:
- PADUDEN DUO may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue and visual disturbances in some people.
- These effects must be taken into account if a high level of alertness is required, for example when driving vehicles. Be careful when driving or using machines until you know how PADUDEN DUO affects you.
