Description
Orofar, 2 mg + 1.5 mg/ml oropharyngeal spray, solution, 30 ml, Stada
Orofar contains an antiseptic, benzoxonium chloride and a local anesthetic, lidocaine hydrochloride.
Indications:
Orofar can be used for:
- to destroy the bacteria, viruses and fungi that cause throat and mouth infections
- soothing the pain in the irritated mouth and throat
- sore throat associated with colds, pharyngitis and laryngitis (with or without difficulty swallowing)
- small ulcers in the mouth (canker sores), stomatitis and inflamed gums
- it can also be used as an adjuvant treatment in tonsillitis
- it is indicated for adults, children and adolescents aged between 4 and 18 years
- it is available in the form of lozenges and spray and does not irritate the mouth and throat.
Composition:
- The active substances are benzoxonium chloride 2 mg/ml and lidocaine hydrochloride 1.5 mg/ml
- The other components are: ethyl alcohol 96%, glycerol, hydrochloric acid 0.1N, peppermint oil, menthol, purified water.
Mode of administration:
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
- Spray 2-4 times in the mouth or back of the mouth on the affected area
- Repeat 3 to 6 times a day as needed, keeping an interval of at least 2-3 hours between each dose
- Do not exceed recommended doses.
Children aged 4-11 years:
- Spray 2 or 3 times in the mouth or back of the mouth on the affected area
- Repeat 3 to 6 times a day as needed
- Keep an interval of at least 2-3 hours between each dose
- The spray should be used on children only under the supervision of an adult
- It should not be used on children who cannot hold their breath while spraying
- Do not exceed recommended doses.
Contraindications:
Do not use Orofar if you are allergic to benzoxonium chloride, other quaternary ammonium compounds, lidocaine hydrochloride, other local anesthetic amides, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
- Orofar has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
