Oleofarm Ibesterap Butyrate is food with a special medical purpose for children over 7 years old and adults with intestinal dysfunctions. The preparation is presented in the form of capsules that contain micropellets covered with a coating that ensures the gradual release of sodium butyrate up to 8 hours after ingestion.
The butyric acid contained in the product (in the form of sodium butyrate) belongs to the group of short-chain fatty acids. It is the basic source of energy for intestinal epithelial cells. In humans, it is produced in the large intestine during fiber fermentation.
Sodium butyrate - properties
- Butyric acid is necessary to maintain proper mucosal cell homeostasis. It determines their proper metabolism and proliferation and is also responsible for repair processes.
- Maintains the integrity of the intestinal barrier.
- It also has a positive effect on the intestinal microbiome, stimulating the growth of saprophytic flora and inhibiting the development of other pathogens.
