Description
The pistachio (Latin Pinus Pinea) or pistachio fruit comes from the dry mountainous regions of Central Asia. Their history goes back to ancient Syria. Today they are cultivated in different parts of the world, from the Mediterranean Sea to India and the USA.
The tree from which the pistachio comes can live up to several hundred years and bears fruit only once every two years. However, the harvest is very rich, up to 50 kg of pistachios can be obtained from one tree.
