Description
Argan oil consists of unsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic and linoleic. It contains an extremely large number of natural antioxidants that protect the body against free radicals, as well as numerous compounds with antioxidant, regenerative and radioprotective properties, including carotenoids, polyphenols, phytosterols and vitamin E.
Argan oil is an oily liquid with a light yellow color. It comes from the very hard nuts of the African tree, iron argan. The price of argan oil is largely due to the difficulty in obtaining it (1 liter of oil is made from up to 32 kg of nuts). If stored properly (ie in a cool, dark place), it stays fresh for about 6-8 months. It can be used as an ingredient in homemade cosmetics (eg scrubs). It is soluble in other fats.
