Description
Lagosa 150 mg is a medicine in the form of round sugar-coated tablets intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. The active substance of the preparation is milk thistle extract which contains similarin.
How does Lagosa 150 mg work?
The action of silymarin is based on two mechanisms. The first is the ability to change the structure of the outer cell membrane of hepatocytes. This does not allow hepatotoxic substances to enter the cells. Silymarin also stimulates the activity of nucleolar polymerase A. This increases ribosomal protein synthesis. The regenerative capacity of the liver is thus stimulated. Lagosa is a drug that stabilizes and normalizes the functions of liver cells.
The drug is indicated for use after liver damage caused by the action of toxic compounds - silymarin has an antagonistic effect on hepatotoxic factors (for example, phalloid toxins, lanthanides, carbon tetrachloride). The medicinal preparation Lagosa is also used as a treatment for chronic inflammation of the liver.
The daily dose of the drug is 1 tablet taken 2 times a day with plenty of water.
The medicine is a gluten-free preparation. It's also considered "sodium-free." The preparation contains sucrose and lactose.
