Glycerin suppositories for adults, 12 suppositories, Antibiotice SA
Glycerin suppositories are laxative drugs and are used to treat constipation, to ease defecation after surgical interventions or before rectoscopy.
Glycerin suppositories stimulate secretion at the level of the rectal mucosa and simultaneously trigger the mechanism of defecation.
Composition:
- Active substance is glycerol
- Each suppository contains glycerol 1405 mg.
- The other components are: sodium stearate, purified water.
How to use:
- Glycerin suppositories are administered intrarectally
- The usual dose is one suppository as needed
- In preparation for an endoscopic examination of the rectum: one suppository 5-30 minutes before the time chosen for the intervention
- Suppositories are administered intrarectally
- Glycerin suppositories are only an adjunct to hygienic and dietary treatment
- To normalize stools, supplement your diet with fiber and fluids and perform physical activities
- Do not use glycerin suppositories for a long time
- Treatment of constipation should not exceed 10 days
- If during this time the symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult your doctor or pharmacist
- To make administration easier, place the suppositories in cold water.
Warnings:
Take special care when using Glycerin Suppositories for Adults if you suffer from various conditions in the large intestine or rectum (hemorrhoidal crises, anal fissures, hemorrhagic colitis).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine
- There are no controlled studies on the effects of the medicine on pregnant women
- Glycerin suppositories can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding when absolutely necessary.
Driving and using machines:
- Glycerin suppositories for adults have no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
Do not use Glycerin suppositories for adults if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to glycerin or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
Do not use Glycerin Suppositories for Adults after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Store below 25ºC, in the original packaging.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Medicines should not be thrown away via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help protect the environment.
