1. WHAT IS CORSODYL 1% GEL AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR The drug is intended to reduce the effectiveness of dental plaque and care for the oral cavity in gingivitis and periodontitis, in people with fixed orthodontic appliances, with extended fixed bridges and dental implants. Furthermore, as an adjunct to the treatment of recurrent canker sores, in infectious lesions of the corners of the mouth and lips, to support healing after oral surgery.
2. Before taking CORSODYL 1% GEL Do not use Corsodyl 1% Gel- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to chlorhexidine or any of the other components of the medicine.
· Corsodyl 1% Gel should not be applied to the eyes, around the eyes and the ear canal. If the gel accidentally enters these areas, it is necessary to rinse them with a sufficient amount of water.
Use of other medicines If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. Chlorhexidine does not have the ability to combine with anionic substances. With the simultaneous use of toothpastes containing SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), the effectiveness of chlorhexidine may decrease. Therefore, it is recommended to use an SLS-free toothpaste or rinse your mouth thoroughly with water between applying
Corsodyl 1% Gel and using the toothpaste.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any medicine, including Corsodyl 1% Gel. You can use
Corsodyl 1% Gel during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines No adverse effects have been reported or known.
3. HOW TO USE CORSODYL 1% GEL The medicine is intended for adults and children aged 12 and over. To care for the oral cavity and reduce the effectiveness of dental plaque: for 14 days, 1 to 2 times a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening, squeeze about 2 cm of the gel on a toothbrush cleaned of toothpaste residues teeth and brush. teeth for at least 1 minute. To increase the effectiveness, it is not recommended to rinse your mouth with water after using the gel. The course can be repeated every 3 months. If the mucous membrane or lips are affected: apply the gel in the morning and evening using a cotton swab directly on the affected area in the oral cavity.
If you use more medicine than you should, there is no risk of overdose. However, follow the recommended dosage for the next use.
If you forget to use Corsodyl 1% Gel Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Treatment of inflammation of the oral cavity caused by dentures - the denture should be thoroughly cleaned and soaked in mouthwash twice a day for 15 minutes. 4. POSSIBLE ADVERSE REACTIONS Like all medicines,

Change in tooth color When using the drug, yellow-brown discoloration of the teeth and the surface of the tongue may occur simultaneously. These changes are reversible and will disappear on their own if treatment is stopped. They can be removed more quickly by intensive cleaning with toothpaste. In certain cases, treatment by a dentist is necessary for complete removal. Stained front tooth fillings with poor margins or a rough surface that cannot be completely cleaned should be replaced.
Taste At the beginning of the use of the drug, temporary changes in taste and a burning sensation of the tongue may occur. With further use of the drug, these changes usually disappear.
Swelling of the parotid gland Swelling of the parotid salivary gland has been reported very rarely. However, spontaneous resolution occurred in all cases after completion of this treatment.
Skin irritation Skin irritation may occasionally occur when using the chlorhexidine product. However, very rarely general hypersensitivity reactions to chlorhexidine have been reported.
5. HOW TO STORE CORSODYL 1% GEL Store at a temperature up to 25 °C. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use
Corsodyl 1% Gel after the expiry date written on the box. The expiration date refers to the last day of the specified month. Do not use
Corsodyl 1% Gel if you notice visible signs of deterioration of the medicine. Medicines should not be thrown away with waste water or household waste. Return unused medication to the pharmacy. These measures will help protect the environment.
