Description
The active substance of Biosteron is dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which is a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands and released into the blood. In various tissues, DHEA is transformed into active sex hormones: estrogens and androgens. The highest serum DHEA concentrations occur in youth (2nd and 3rd decades of life), followed by a slow decline to approximately 10–20% in individuals aged 80 years. DHEA deficiency can cause adverse phenomena related to the aging process.
