Nattokinase is an enzyme produced by the bacterium Bacillus subtilis during the fermentation of soybeans, i.e. during the preparation of the traditional Japanese preparation "natto", from which nattokinase takes its name.

The enzyme itself is credited with a thrombolytic effect, that is, preventing the formation of blood clots. This action is due to three properties of this enzyme:

• direct breakdown of fibrins • activation of substances that promote their degradation • inactivation of substances that inhibit their destruction

Furthermore, our Nattokinase does not contain vitamin K2. Although it is not harmful in itself, and is even necessary for the human body, people who struggle with vascular problems should monitor its consumption. It can weaken the effect of anticoagulants2.
