Fiobilin, 20 tablets, Terapia
Fiobilin contains an active substance called dehydrocholic acid and belongs to the group of medicines called preparations containing bile acids.
Indications:
It is recommended in the following conditions:
- Chronic cholecystitis – inflammatory damage to the gallbladder
- Biliary dyskinesia - disorder of the functioning of the gallbladder
- Chronic constipation of hepatic origin
- Migraines and convalescence after acute hepatitis A virus (epidemic).
Composition:
- The active substance is dehydrocholic acid
- One tablet contains 250 mg of dehydrocholic acid
- The other components are: povidone K30, stearic acid, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, corn starch, talc, crospovidone.
How to use:
- Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
- Adults: 1-2 Fiobilin 250 mg tablets, 3 times a day, after meals, for 15 days
- Children and adolescents: 7-15 years, 1-2 tablets Fiobilin 250 mg per day.
Contraindications:
Do not take Fiobilin:
- if you are allergic to dehydrocholic acid or any of the other components of this medicine
- if you have mechanical jaundice (blockage of bile removal accompanied by yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin)
- if you have gallstones and are in pain
- if you have an acute inflammation of the cholecyst
- if you have a severe malfunction of your liver cells
- if you have acute inflammation of the liver (acute hepatitis)
- if you have a chronic liver disorder that has worsened (acute chronic hepatitis)
- if you have decompensated liver cirrhosis
- if you have inflammation of the appendix (appendicitis).
Precautions:
Before taking Fiobilin, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
In particular tell your doctor if you are taking:
- diuretics – drugs used to remove excess water from the body
- antihypertensives – drugs used to lower high blood pressure
- laxatives - drugs used to treat constipation.
It is good that, in general, Fiobilin is administered at an interval of 2 hours from any other medicines.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine
- Dehydrocholic acid is not recommended for use during pregnancy
- Dehydrocholic acid is excreted in breast milk, therefore it is recommended to avoid its use during breastfeeding.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
- There are no known effects on driving and using machines.
